The Feasts of Israel
“Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the
Lord thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they
shall not appear before the Lord empty:”( Deut. 16:16)
“Three times thou shalt keep a feast
unto me in the year. [15] Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread
seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib (Nisan);
for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
[16] And the feast of harvest (Pentecost), the firstfruits of thy
labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering (Tabernacles),
which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of
the field. [17] Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the
Lord God. [18] Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened
bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning. [19] The
first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the Lord
thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.” (Exodus 23:14-19 )
Just as there are three major colors
in a rainbow, and these three are manifest in the seven primary colors, so it
is with the Feasts of Jehovah in Israel. There are three major Feasts, yet these Feasts may be broken up into seven
Feasts.
The Feasts are typical and
prophetical of that which finds it fullest expression and completion in Christ,
and the church of God, the true Israel of God. ( 1 Corinthians 10:6,11; Gal
6:16).
This is not to say Israel does not have a place still in God's prophetic word, but that the church now as Ruth did will fill the gap left through disobedience of all God intended for his people Israel (Matt 21:43, Romans 11).
This is not to say Israel does not have a place still in God's prophetic word, but that the church now as Ruth did will fill the gap left through disobedience of all God intended for his people Israel (Matt 21:43, Romans 11).
Israel, the chosen nation, was
spoken of as “the church in the wilderness” (Acts 7:38). Therefore the New
Testament church can find numerous things in Israel’s history and the dealings
of God which find their spiritual counterpart in the New Testament times.
Leviticus 23 sets forth the most
suitable outline of the three, yet of all seven, Feasts. Other scriptures will
be brought in throughout the text.
I. { 1. The Feast of Passover- Lev 23:5-6
{ 2. The Feast of Unleavened Bread-
Lev. 23:6-8
{ 3. The Feast of the Sheaf of First
Fruits Lev. 23:9-14
II. {1. The Feast of Weeks (Pentecost)-Lev.-

III.
{1. The Feasts of
Trumpets- Lev. 23: 23-25
{2.
The Feast Day of Atonement- Lev. 23:26-32
{3.
The Feast of Tabernacles-Lev 23: 33-44
The Feast of Passover took place in the first month; The
Feast of Pentecost took place in the
third month, and the Feast of Tabernacles found fulfillment in the seventh month.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ here are three steps you need to take to be saved:
You must admit you are a sinner, confess your sin to Jesus, repent (turn from all you know is wrong), ask Jesus to come in your heart, and begin to follow Jesus by reading and obeying his word and go to a bible believing church that teaches his word. May God through Christ bless you!
