Divine Healing

Divine healing is a Bible doctrine and is linked with blood atonement (Isa. 53:4-5). If someone can believe his/her sins can be forgiven, then one should believe that God through Jesus Christ can heal their body. Many believers have come to accept divine healing as meaning, “healing that is accomplished by the power of God.” (The atonement through Jesus Christ provides not only salvation for mankind but healing as well). As the Psalmist David proclaimed, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases” (Psalm 103:2, 3).

The gospels are literally full of accounts where Jesus performed healings during his earthly ministry. In the ministry of Jesus the blind received their sight, the speechless spoke, the withered limbs were restored, the lame walked, the mentally disturbed were clothed in their right mind, and the dead were even raised. Jesus actively fulfilled a healing ministry.

The gospels also proclaim the healing ministry of the disciples. Jesus gave to them the power and the authority over all demons and all diseases (Luke 9). They went throughout the land preaching the gospel and healing the sick.

In the history of the early church after the ascension of Jesus, the ministry of healing is still evident for time and time again it is recorded where the sick was restored. Not only was healing through Jesus practiced, it was also taught. James stated, “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed…”(James 5:14-16).

To the early church, the ministry of healing went hand in hand with the ministry of salvation. The church today needs to stand firm on the teaching of divine healing. Peter stated, “Who his own self (Jesus) bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter 3:24). Since the church of the first century believed and practiced divine healing, the last days church should preach divine healing and to teach it by precept and example. I personally have seen tumors healed, broken bones restored, dyslexia healed, fevers cooled, pain removed, hernias disappear, dying people restored by a simple prayer in Jesus’ name. Moreover, I have spoken to people who have been raised from the dead, seen blinded eyes opened, cripples to walk, and many other unexplainable healings! God is a sin forgiving, merciful healer, and He is Still in Business!     Jehovah Rapha- THE LORD our Healer (Exodus 15:26)

If you have never accepted or if you have fallen away from Jesus Christ here are three steps you need to take to be saved:

You must admit you are a sinner, confess your sin to Jesus, repent (turn from all you know is wrong), ask Jesus to come in your heart, and begin to follow Jesus by reading and obeying his word and go to a bible believing church that teaches his word. And tell someone what Christ Jesus Has Done For You (Rev 12:10)
May God through Christ bless you!
